You have questions. We have answers.
The Basics
WHATS INCLUDED IN MY TICKET?
-
Everything. Accommodations, all 5 meals, programming, wellness sessions, activities, and your camp feels kit — journal, disposable camera, and camp shirt. You just show up.
WHATS ON THE MENU?
-
Five meals cooked by a vetted chef — think real food, not camp food. We collect dietary restrictions and allergies during registration and do our best to accommodate them. Nobody goes hungry. Have more questions about meals or dietary needs? Fill out our contact form and we'll be in touch.
WHAT ARE THE SHARED BATHROOMS LIKE?
-
Each side of the bunkhouse has its own dedicated bathroom — 2 toilets and 2 showers. You're sharing with your side only, not the entire camp. The cabins each have their own private bathroom exclusively for cabin guests. Honestly, it's not bad at all.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
-
This is where things get fun. We'll send a full packing list after you book. Think layers, comfortable shoes, a few swimsuits, an open mind, and summer camp vibes. We've thought of everything; you just have to show up.
The No Distractions Policy
WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO PHONES?
-
Camp style means camp rules — and that includes phones. When you arrive, your phone goes into a labeled pouch and lives in our secure lock box at the main lodge for the weekend. Every evening after dinner we'll have a 20-minute phone window so you can check in with whoever needs to hear from you. Then it goes back. It sounds like a lot until you realize how good it feels to not have it. This is the whole point — and most people tell us it's their favorite part.
HOW DOES MY FAMILY REACH ME IN AN EMERGENCY?
-
We get it — completely disappearing for a weekend feels like a lot. That's why we have a dedicated camp line for real emergencies. If someone truly needs to reach you, they can call or text our emergency line and we will get to you immediately. No questions asked. Camp Emergency Line will be provided ahead of camp. And for the record — checking in once a day is totally fine. We're not a cult. We just think you deserve a break.
What about photos?
-
We're giving every camper a disposable camera in their camp feels kit — use it, love it, embrace the analog. Our staff will also be capturing candid moments throughout the weekend and we'll share a full photo album with everyone after camp. Need an extra disposable camera? We'll have them available for purchase at The Camp Store, because some weekends deserve more than one roll of film.
Why no alcohol?
-
We've found that the best version of connection, fun, and rest happens without it. No judgment on your real life — just a weekend to see what's possible when the drinks are replaced with lake water and good people. Most people are surprised by how much they don't miss it. Come be a kid again and have fun the old fashioned way.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
-
We ask that you respect the no-alcohol policy for the full weekend. It's part of what makes this experience what it is.
The People & Vibe
HOW ARE THE BUNK ROOMS ARRANGED?
-
Bunk rooms are separated by gender identity — you'll be placed based on how you identify. If you have specific preferences or needs around sleeping arrangements, just reach out before camp and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Group cabin bookings are yours to fill however you choose.
WHO ELSE IS GOING TO BE THERE?
-
Adults who wanted a weekend that felt different. Our community is warm, fun, and genuinely good people. First timers and regulars, introverts and extroverts, solo travelers and friend groups — everyone fits. If you're here, you belong here.
WHO'S RUNNING THIS — IS IT JUST THE TWO OF YOU?
-
Camp No Distractions is led by Kristin and Sean but backed by the full Georgia Lakesports team — experienced outdoor facilitators, certified lifeguards, and CPR and first aid trained staff on site for the entire weekend. We've run programming for years and bring that same operational engine to every camp. You're in good hands — there are just more of them than you think.
IS THERE AN AGE REQUIREMENT?
-
Camp No Distractions is for adults 21 and older. No exceptions. This is your weekend — we want everyone here to be fully present and ready for the experience. Looking for a youth or mixed youth and adult program? We've got you. Fill out our contact form and we'll be in touch about our other offerings.
IS THIS A SAFE SPACE FOR SOLO TRAVELERS?
-
Absolutely — and we take that seriously. Camp No Distractions is a welcoming, respectful environment for everyone. We're here to disconnect, be present, and connect with good people — not to party. We expect all campers to treat each other with respect and maintain appropriate boundaries throughout the weekend. Anyone who makes another camper feel unsafe or uncomfortable will be asked to leave without refund. Come as you are. Feel safe being here.
Dates & Booking
THIS DATE DOESN'T WORK. WILL YOU DO MORE CAMPS?
-
Yes, we are planning for more dates in the 2026 season. Join our waitlist and you'll be the first to know when new dates drop.
DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS OR TICKET TRADES?
-
Yes — and we love this question. If you have a skill, talent, or service you'd like to bring to camp in exchange for a discounted ticket, we want to hear from you. Think photography, facilitation, massage, music, art, cooking — if it adds to the experience, let's talk. Fill out our contact form and tell us what you'd like to bring to camp in return. We'll take it from there.
WHAT'S YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
-
We get it — life happens. Here's how it works: cancel 30 or more days before camp and you'll receive a full refund. Cancel 14–29 days out and we'll refund 50%. Cancel within 14 days and the ticket is non-refundable — but reach out and we'll do our best to transfer your spot to a future camp date. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to galakesports@gmail.com.
HOW DO I BOOK A SUNDAY ADD-ON EXPERIENCE?
-
Sunday add-ons are available to all campers and details will be sent after you book. Choose from our Level 1 experience extension — shore fishing, kayaking, SUP, hiking, or archery — or upgrade to a private boat excursion. Wake surf lessons are also available for groups of up to four. Early bird campers booked before June 1 get a Level 1 experience included. Private Cabin Buyout guests receive a complimentary boat excursion. More details coming your way after registration.
Good to Know
HOW DO I GET TO CAMP?
-
Camp is located on Lake Allatoona near Acworth, Georgia — about an hour north of Atlanta. Driving is the easiest way to get here and parking is available on the property. Flying in? Rideshare from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International works just fine — we're not as remote as we seem. If you'd like to coordinate a carpool with other campers, reach out and we'll help connect you. Detailed directions and arrival instructions will be sent before camp along with your packing list. Arrival window is Friday 4:30–5:30pm. Departure is Sunday by 12:00pm.
WHAT IF I FORGET SOMETHING?
-
Don't stress. We're tucked away on a private section of the lake but we're not in the middle of nowhere. If you forget something essential, we will either have it at the Camp Store or just let us know and we'll figure it out — things can be delivered and we're resourceful. That said, we'll send you a thorough packing list before camp so you show up ready. Pack well and leave the rest to us.
WHAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENS AT CAMP?
-
Your safety is our first priority — always. The property is gated and privately secured with on-site security. Our staff includes certified lifeguards, CPR and first aid trained team members on site for the entire weekend. The facility is connected to local fire and police emergency systems — if something happens, help is on the way fast. You're tucked away in nature with every modern safety net in place. Come and exhale.
ISN'T GEORGIA HOT IN THE SUMMER?
-
It is. That's what the lake is for. Cabins and bunk rooms are air conditioned, and we plan activities around the heat. Come prepared and come thirsty — for water.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
-
Camp happens rain or shine — a little weather never stopped a good time. Most of our activities have covered or indoor alternatives and we're flexible enough to adjust the schedule on the fly. In the rare case of severe weather that forces a cancellation on our end, you'll receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future date. We've never let a summer storm ruin a bonfire yet.
